"Who made who?"

Films: Maximum Overdrive (1986)

Alias: Various, notably the Goblin Truck

Type: Man-Made/Alien

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of a small toy car to that of a large truck.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: We've seen machines get possessed before, but not on a scale like this. Now, just about every bit of moving metal under the sun is out to get us, and they won't stop until all is roadkill.

History: Depending on whichever narration you prefer, these machines were either subject to possession by a comet's tail or intentional possession by a UFO. Either way, we got ourselves some killer machines ranging from simple ATMs to a massive Western star 4800 truck that happens to have the head of the infamous Spider Man villain, the Green Goblin, on it. Alas, the big rigs, led by the Goblin Truck, are the main aggressors, and they converge at a truck stop to kill some idiots and demand diesel OR ELSE!

Notable Kills: We have arcade machines electrocuting people, vending machines launching sodas with deadly accuracy, to that one steam-roller scene...

Final Fate: Most of the trucks are blown up or shot up. The Goblin Truck in particular is blasted to kingdom come by a rocket launcher. Later, the UFO is destroyed by a Soviet satellite, and the comet leaves, thus ending the machine menace.

Powers/Abilities: Whatever the machines are capable of is amplified to kill.

Weakness: Heavy artillery, destroying the main source.

Scariness Factor: 4-While not totally invulnerable, there's no reason to want to take on an army of machines with this many varied powers. Whether it's sodas, electricity, mounted guns, or simply the ability to run you over, you'll want to steer clear of these metal monsters. The Goblin Truck in particular is a stand-out for matching ol' Norman Osborne's manic expression.

Trivia: -Anyone who's heard of this film can tell you that it's mainly remembered for how much of the soundtrack is done by the hit rock band, AC-DC. This is due to them being Stephen King's favorite band.

-Once again, Stephen King's cocaine problem surfaces here, as he described himself being baked the who way through production.

And soon, he'll cut their strings, just to watch them fall.

Much like Satan, these aliens don't give a damn about traffic laws.

"What do we want?" "Less pricey oil!" "When do we want it?!" "NOW!"

How do you suppose those got in there?

"Yes, you made me. Stop repeating it every now and then."

Right before the ship smacked into Haley's Comet.

Yep. We found the scene. Let's take showers now.

Cars 4: Highway to Hell

There is no speed limit to destruction.

At least, you didn't have your glider smack into your windshield.
